Maybe you weren’t in FFA yourself, but your children were.

Maybe you are just a supporter of the organization and what it teaches our young people.

If you fit into any of those scenarios, then you are a perfect candidate for the Jamesport FFA Alumni.

The Jamesport FFA Alumni needs members to help support current and future Jamesport FFA students. The local alumni group is in its startup phase and is looking for past members and supporters to join.

Local FFA Alumni goals for current high school FFA members include: funding for official dress; funding for leadership opportunities; a mentor base for Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE), contest teams, and exhibiting livestock; and of course to have fun as an alumni group.

Only one or two meetings a year are necessary to go over goals, vote on applications, officers, etc…

Even if you are a former member living out of town or out of state you can still join and stay in touch via e-mails, Facebook, phone, or through the newspaper.

Interested supporters are invited to join by Monday, Aug. 8, in order to apply for National FFA Alumni status.

An informative meeting will be held at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, July 13, in the Tri-County School library.
