County Commission
James Lewis, road and bridge supervisor, and his crew are hauling rip rap to a bridge on 292nd Street and then will be proceeding with the deck placement on this bridge. Crews will then be replacing corrugated metal pipe around the county.
There was discussion about road issues, regarding access to 232nd Street in Washington Township.
David Cox moved to adopt the Procurement Policy for Daviess County. Carl Carder seconded. Motion carried.
Carl Carder moved to adopt Order 2016-2 Resolution – Property Assessment Clean Energy Act (PACE). David Cox seconded. Motion carried.
The county-wide cleanup in conjunction with Green Hills Solid Waste Management was completed on June 4.
Carl Carder attended the Transportation Advisory Committee on June 3 in St. Joseph regarding district specific asset management, financial overview of the remainder of 2016 and federal legislative updates.
Vicki Corwin, county clerk, submitted her Election Training Certificate from the 2016 Urban Board training.
Annie Gibson, prosecuting attorney, discussed procedures regarding her office.
Commissioners discussed fiber project into the county. Monthly bids from Bluebird Network and Windstream were reviewed. Bluebird Network will be placing fiber to the courthouse through the State of Missouri for the Circuit Court system in late summer.
Phillip Ropp discussed issues with bridges and low water crossings county-wide.
The Commissioners visited Washington and Jamesport Townships, checking brush, roads and bridges.

Circuit Court
Before Judge Thomas Chapman, the following cases were heard on June 8:
On two felony counts of unlawful use of a weapon, Matthew E. Labee of Jameson was sentenced to 15 years and four years in the Department of Corrections, sentences to run consecutively. The execution of sentences was suspended, and he was placed on five years probation and ordered to serve 120 days shock incarceration. On four misdemeanors, two counts of assault third degree, possession of marijuana and paraphernalia, he was sentenced to 167 days on each count, with credit for time served. The misdemeanor sentences run concurrently to the felony sentencing. These sentences stem from an incident of road rage that occurred Sept. 30, 2015, on Highway 13 in Daviess County, in which Labee fired a gun from his vehicle at another vehicle.
A dissolution of marriage was granted to Davie Kimble from Gladys A. Kimble.
Cases bound over from the Associate Division: State vs. Jonathan Chavez, Green City, one felony and one misdemeanor count of assault on law enforcement officer, and misdemeanor assault third degree; State vs. Stephen Kerns, burglary, class C felony.
Civil cases filed: Daisy McKiddy, Jamesport, vs. Robert Collins, Gallatin, and Safeco Insurance Company, Overland Park, Kan., application for approval of wrongful death settlement. The Department of Revenue, filed a certificate of lien, DOR, taxes, against Larry D. McCleary, Cameron. Transcript judgments were filed by the Division of Employment Security against Cabinet Designs LLC, Gallatin, and Brian Dirks, Gallatin.
