Pattonsburg Fire Department was granted permission to use the city park for their “Fire and Friendship Fun Day” on June 18 during the meeting of the Pattonsburg Board of Aldermen held May 16.

In other business, sales representative Stan Weihs with ACCO Unlimited Corporation was present to discuss the bulk system pilot proposal for the city’s water treatment facility, a system that uses liquid chlorine instead of gas chlorine. The board decided to accept the ACCO proposal because liquid chlorine is a safer option than gas chlorine and has less regulatory burdens.
Ordinance Enforcement Officer Christy Eden Broder informed the council that Cathy Hartman would be getting a letter within the week to appear in court in June.
Lucille Lusk discussed city code proposals and other city ordinance issues.
Pages 129-132 of the proposed Pattonsburg Code of Ordinances were replaced to include the previously passed ordinance to opt out of state imposed Sales Tax Holiday; and to include site agreement with T-Mobile.
An ordinance carried adopting a code of ordinances of the City of Pattonsburg which provides for the repeal of all ordinances not included therein.
The board will check on the price of waste lime as a possible top surface for Oak Street. The street had new road tubes put in and has had several months to settle.
The board will get prices and possibly replace the windows in city hall before winter.
