Second Harvest Community Food Bank joined with the National Association of Letter Carriers to hold the 24th Annual Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive on May 14. USPS employees and customers across America have contributed more than one billion pounds of non-perishable food to feed the hungry since this effort began in 1992. The event is also sponsored by UFCW, United Way, AFL-CIO, Valpak, Valassis and local food pantries. The food from the drive was delivered to the Seventh Day Adventist Community Service Center in Gallatin. The food weighed 400 pounds and goes to the emergency food pantry for Daviess County. Anyone can come in to the Seventh Day Community Service Center between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Wednesdays who is short of food and experiencing an emergency. No income guidelines are necessary. Call 663-2478 for more information.
