Aubrey NelsonAubrey Nelson, 2015 Gallatin High School Bulldog alumni, was recently chosen for the 2016 NJCAA Division 1 Collegiate Region 16 Tournament Softball Team. The regional tournament was held the last of April in Columbia. Aubrey was freshman first basemen for the North Central Missouri College, Trenton, Pirates. Aubrey shared team honors with sophomore catcher Madi Trump of Trenton. Aubrey played the 2015-2016 season under NCMC head coach Megan Cairnes. The Lady Pirates went 31-17 for the season, which was one of the best records recorded by the Lady Pirates in the past several years. Aubrey previously played for the GHS three-time conference softball champs, under head coach Chad Sullenger.

Aubrey is the daughter of Bill and Vera Nelson, and granddaughter of Sarah Dowell and Jack Dowell of Gallatin. She is also the granddaughter of the late Judy Nelson of Coffey. Aubrey plans to finish her associate’s degree in business at NCMC and transfer to Northwest to pursue a BS degree in political science, for further career pursuits as an attorney.
