The home of Jay and Janet Hart at 411 East Berry Street in Gallatin has been selected as Yard of the Month for May by the Gallatin Garden Club.
Janet said she grows a variety of perennials, including hostas, carnations, dianthus, daisies, sunflowers and butterfly bush.
She especially enjoys sowing flowers with bright colors that attract and support butterflies and hummingbirds.
Back yard of the Hart home
Every year she adds something new to the landscape.
Janet takes care of the flower beds and said all that weeding and watering is a great stress reliever after a busy day at the office.
The back of the house features flower beds around a pergola over a hot tub and a pool and patio area with grill.
The wheelbarrow is full of petunias.
Janet and her husband Jay moved to Gallatin 10 years ago this month of May.
