The drug take-back event which was conducted in Gallatin on April 30 collected 56 pounds of unused drugs. The event was sponsored by Daviess County PWSD #3, the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office, and the Gallatin Police Department, in conjunction with a statewide take-back event sponsored by the Missouri Rural Water Association.

According to Roger Barker of PWSD #3, “Folks streamed in throughout the day and everyone was very pleased to find a place to dispose of these drugs without harm to the environment or risk of them getting into the wrong hands.” Barker said that in comparison to other pickup sites around the state, Daviess County had one of the best responses as far as pounds received, especially considering the size of the cities in our county.
