Bob Robertson, ball game coordinator for the Gallatin Park Board, reported on sports programs at the park during the meeting of the board held April 21. Ball practices are fully underway. Work is beginning on the installation of the new batting cage to be located north of the upper ball field.

Mr. Robertson also discussed possible locations and equipment for a future basketball court. The sole bid for the proposed basketball court was reviewed. It was submitted by David Kauffman of Jamesport. Discussion ensued regarding size, scope, and costs. The project was tabled until it could be examined further.

Jeremy Dungy reported on work recently completed at the park including the replacement of the old playground edging and installation of new fall protection material. The board approved some additional work to properly finish the playground project. A bid from Graber Outdoors for dirt work and landscaping as well as five tons of additional playground mulch was accepted.

Joseph Billings reported that the two-person swing has been installed up the hill from the gazebo.

Bills in the amount of $15,575.53 were approved for payment.
