Garden Club reports on red buds

The Gallatin Garden and Craft Club met with Sarah Dowell at her home on April 19 for their first meeting in 2016. Roll call was taken. Each member gave a report of red bud trees or flowering spring trees in their yards. Several gave reports of red bud trees planted in Gallatin in years past. A committee was appointed to select Yard of the Month for May, June and July.

The spring blooming tree which the club set out in the Lions Club Park in Gallatin was hurt by the late frost, as were some of the member’s gardens. Pictures and articles of some new varieties of flowers that members may set out or plant this year were given.

Yearbooks are filled out for the year. The club appreciates Delma Rodgers, historian, for the yearbooks. Next meeting is with hostess Louise Taylor.
