Courtney Warford, a Senior English major from Pattonsburg, presented “Here, There, Up, and Down: The Perks of Being a Wallflower as a Trauma Narrative” and “Blackfish: Ethics and Representation in Documentary Film”.

The annual cross-discipline conference is organized this year by Dr. Kavita Hatwalkar, assistant professor of English; Dr. Kevin Carnahan, associate professor of religion and philosophy; and Dr. Jeremy Reed, associate professor of English. The program involves nearly two dozen CMU students participating plus students from Columbia College and William Woods University.

Since its founding in 1854, CMU has evolved into a university that confers master’s, bachelor’s and associate’s degrees through programming on its main campus in Fayette, Mo., and through extension sites located across Missouri and online.
