The bid from Lockridge, Constant and Conrad was approved to provide audit services for three years at $5,750 for 2016 with a $100 increase for the next two years during the meeting of the Gallatin R-5 Board of Education held April 14.

The reorganization of the board was held with Board Secretary Swopes administering the Oath of Office to Brice Terry, Dr. William Irby and Amy Heldenbrand.

Department of Elementary and Secondary Education Missouri Learning Standards for K-12 were approved.

Honors Program changes were approved as presented to be implemented with the class of 2018.

Dr. Copple gave a preliminary budget report.

The board offered positions to the following: Carol Walker as secretary; Missy Chadwick as secretary; Terri Feiden as secretary; DeAnna Swalley as secretary and P.A.T. Educator; Kelly Walker as nurse; Shelly Salisbury as aide-library; and Jennifer Youtsey as aide – PreK.

Barb Irby was offered a position as aide – lunchroom, computers.

Laura Andersen, Cheryl Arnold, Laurie Walton-Roll, Jennifer Youtsey and Sue Bird were offered aide positions.

The resignation from Christine Barnett was accepted.

Max Berry, Phillip Berry, Dallas Engel, Doug Hubbard, Bob Sharp, Marty Sharp and Roger Vanatta were offered bus driver positions. Bill McLey and Jim Borges were offered custodian positions. Teresa Thompson, Dixie Vanatta, Stacey Collins, Kim Ness and Clara Sipple were offered cook positions.

Tenured position was offered to Nicole Ray.

Lesli Lin was offered the position of superintendent secretary, Lynda Swopes as bookkeeper and Lori McLaughlin as computer coordinator.

The board agreed to add a new secretary position.

The Board members parked cars for Prom on April 16, at 6 p.m.

MSBA Regional Spring Meeting is April 27 at 6 p.m. at South Harrison County R-2 School.

Next meeting is May 2 at 7 p.m.

Members present were Jesse Bird, Tim Bradford, Trent Dowell, Bill Irby, Jeffrey Donovan, Brice Terry and Amy Heldenbrand. Brice Terry was elected president; Jesse Bird is vice president; Lynda Swopes is secretary, and Lesli Lin is treasurer.
