A Cameron Police Department officer first spotted Griffith at a Cameron truck stop in a pickup that was reportedly stolen out of Buchanan County on Saturday. Griffith fled from the officers as they attempted to question him, setting off the pursuit.

Griffith wrecked the pickup, which was pulling a trailer, outside of Kidder.

According to the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office, there were several stolen guns in the pickup and at least one stolen ATV on the trailer. Officers were concerned that Griffith was armed.

Area law enforcement officers and the Missouri State Highway Patrol set up a perimeter where they suspected he was hiding. He was eventually found under a bridge near State Route D and State Route J.

Griffith has been charged in DeKalb County with tampering with motor vehicle first degree, class C felony, and resisting arrest for a felony, class D felony. No Daviess County charges will be filed.
