Elanson Holcomb, 88, New Hampton, passed away Sept. 1, 2015, at his home.

He was born Aug. 27, 1927, in Coffey, the son of Nova Amos and Alice Dawn (Foster) Holcomb.
On May 29, 1949, he married Juanita Shaw in Concordia, Mo. She survives of the home.
Elanson served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He was employed by the Missouri Department of Transportation as supervisor at the Coffey and Jamesport barns until his retirement. He was a member of the Coffey Baptist Church and served as deacon over 50 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant son.
Survivors in addition to his wife, Juanita, are daughters, Marta (Bud) Pottorff, New Hampton, and Gail (Ed) Henry, Springfield; brother, Ken (Kay) Holcomb; grandchildren, Alicia (Joe) Taylor and Brian Henry; great grandchildren, Branden Quincy, Janessa, Daven and Grace; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 4, at Coffey Baptist Church, Coffey. Burial with military rites will follow in Coffey Cemetery, Coffey. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Roberson Funeral Home, Bethany.
