Then, our Chautauqua Grand Marshals, J.R. and Betty Bird, will be honored for their many years of great service in the community. A VFW presentation will conclude the ceremony, followed by the Chautauqua Square Dance on Jackson Street, called by J.R. Bird.

The Chautauqua Car Show will be making a comeback to the schedule on Saturday, Sept. 19, just off the square on East Grand from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Registration will begin at 9 a.m. Awards for the top 10 will be given at 2 p.m. Come out and see all of the great cars!

On Sunday, Sept. 20, there will be a new event, an inter-faith devotional at the Dockery Park gazebo at 1:30 p.m. Local spiritual leaders will inspire with music and the spoken word. All are welcome. Bring a blanket or lawn chair to sit on and a picnic lunch if you would like. Mark your calendars, and be sure to attend. A perfect addition to your Sunday worship, this will be something you won’t want to miss!
