On Aug. 31, as Sgt. A. Henry was traveling northbound on I-35, he observed a blue Toyota traveling southbound at a high rate of speed. He checked the vehicle’s speed at 87 miles per hour, and it then accelerated to over 100 mph.

Sgt. Henry activated his emergency equipment and turned around in the grass median. He attempted to overtake the Toyota, which he clocked at 112 mph approaching the Daviess-DeKalb county line. The vehicle then pulled to the right shoulder and stopped at the 54 mile marker.

A computer check revealed that the vehicle was stolen in Wisconsin on Aug. 27. The officer also found marijuana in the car.

Ronald S. Calloway, 22, New Orleans, LA, was arrested and transported to the Daviess-DeKalb Regional Jail. He has been charged with tampering with motor vehicle, felony C, possession of marijuana, misdemeanor B, and no seatbelt, infraction. Bond is set at $35,000.
