Christy Eden Browder was invited to discuss contracting to be the city’s ordinance enforcement officer during the June meeting of the Pattonsburg Board of Aldermen. The board agreed to contract her at a maximum of 20 hours per month, $20 for the first hour and $10 for every hour after that. The city’s “dogs and cats” ordinance received corrections, updates and clarifications and the pound license was approved during the August meeting.

In other business at the August meeting, the tax rate levy was set at the maximum legal rate to comply with Missouri law, which is $1 per $100.

Curly Gardner informed the board that he would like to cut some walnut trees south of Oak Street, but was not present to discuss the matter so it was tabled until the next meeting.

Steve McDowell from H2O Laboratory was invited to come to the council meeting to visit with the board about doing all of the city testing for the sewer lagoon. However, he was not able to attend due to a death in his family; he will be present at the next meeting.

Lawn Rangers mowing service damaged a water meter lid and electronic meter reader while mowing. The total cost to replace the lid and reader was $162.59. The board feels that Lawn Rangers needs to pay for the damages.

Amir RazaNaqvi, owner of 110 Services, LLC, requested the renewal of his liquor license, which the board approved.

An ordinance passed declaring that fees, fines, taxes, and recurring costs and payments shall be listed in an ordinance known as the schedule of fee, and may be changed from time to time in accordance with law and as the board shall determine by amendment.

The board entered into closed session to discuss Daviess County PWSD #1. No decision was made.

Six-month financial and yearly financial reports were accepted during the July meeting.

The 2015-2016 proposed budget was prepared and presented by the city clerk and was accepted after review.

The city was approached by Doug Dale inquiring if the city would sell the street roller. The board will first check an ordinance for selling and releasing city property.

After viewing the blue prints of the water treatment plant and the distribution system of the old town of Pattonsburg and the connection between the Daviess County PWSD #1, the board carried a motion to have Decker Construction put a six inch valve and six inch meter outside the fence at the water plant to monitor the old town usage and the district usage.

Lyle Hoover submitted the only mowing bid. His bid was accepted at $100 for each mowing for water plant; $125 for each mowing for sewer lagoon; $1,000 for each mowing for all city lots; and $160 to sickle bar mow the lagoon. (Motion passed 3-1).

The board entered into closed session.

Due to the heavy rains in June three big drainage tubes under Oak Street between Panther Drive and Meadows Lane were washed out and had to be closed for repair.

In other business at the June meeting, Bob Hildreth, the city’s water/sewer operator and maintenance person, received back pay for time worked between March 16 and April 13. This was when a former employee quit and Mr. Hildreth stepped up to cover his position.

Mediation with Daviess County PWSD#1 was set for June 17 at Stephen Griffin’s office in Cameron.

Land prices were set as follows: a good level lot at .15 cents a square foot, and an unlevel

lot at .10 cents a square foot.

The locks at the gate at the water plant were changed. Only employees of the city have a key.
