Funeral services for Juanita Woodward were held Wednesday, July 22, at the Roberson-Polley Chapel, Albany, with burial in the McFall Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Fairview Manor in care of the Roberson-Polley Chapel, 403 N. Hundley, Albany, Mo., 64402.

Juanita Frances Woodward died on July 17, 2015, at Mosaic Hospital in St. Joseph. She was a resident of the Fairview Manor in King City.

Juanita was born Oct. 30, 1930, to Wilfred and Qunnie Arant Shafer in Center Hill, Ark.

Juanita graduated in 1949 from Albany High School then entered nurses training at Missouri Methodist Hospital in St. Joseph.

She married James R. Woodward on March 12, 1951, in Jeffersonville, Ind.

She had been a staff member at Boone County Hospital in Columbia, Pasadena Hospital in Pasadena, Texas, Noll Memorial Hospital in Bethany, Pattonsburg Medical Clinic for Dr. Larry Dowell and later for Dr. Marvin Combs until she retired in 1991.

Juanita was very active in many community affairs; 4-H Leader, McFall Methodist Sunday School teacher, Pattonsburg PTA, Daviess County Extension Council, Gentry County Hospital Board, Stanberry Sheltered Workshop, and P.E.O Chapter BC in Pattonsburg. She was a member of the McFall Baptist Church and later the McFall Methodist Church.

She and her husband Jim ran Woodward Farm Supply from 1959 until 2000.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother and sister-in-law, Bert and Betty Shafer; and brother-in-law, Max Wilson.

Survivors include her children, James Robert Jr. (Vicki), McFall, and Beverly Michelle (Craig) Watson, Naperville, Ill.; her sister, Linda Wilson, Albany; five grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
