Funeral services for Junior Dixon will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, June 29, at McWilliams Funeral Home in Gallatin. Burial will be at the Lock Springs Cemetery.
Junior (Joe) H. Dixon, 92, Jamesport, died June 26, 2015, at Liberty Hospital.
Memorial contributions may be made to senior citizens center or the Lock Springs Cemetery in care of McWilliams Funeral Home in Gallatin.
Junior (Joe) H. Dixon was born June 29, 1922, to the son of Joe H. and Ilah L. (Humphres) Dixon Sr. in Jamesport. He attended grade school at Carlow and graduated from Jamesport High School in 1940, living all of his life in the area. Junior proudly served his country in the US Navy during World War II. He was in active duty in both the Atlantic and Pacific for a period of four years. After being discharged Junior was united in marriage to Helen L. James on Aug. 22, 1946, in Kansas City, Kan. Junior and Helen made their home in the Lock Springs area, later moving to the farm near Jamesport.
Junior was preceded in death by his parents, his son Randy Dixon, sisters, Dorotha Brown and Ruby Grimes.
Survivors include his wife of 68 years Helen of the home, sons, Lanny Dixon and wife Gina, Gary Dixon and wife Connie, all of Jamesport, Danny Joe Dixon and wife Denise of Gallatin, daughter-in-law Debbie Dixon of Trenton, brother, Bob Dixon and wife Carolee of Jamesport, eight grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
