Gallatin Assembly of God
On June 24, Gloria Lint shared a study about “Living in Victory” in these dangerous times. The adult Sunday School lesson centered around Psalms 128:1. Jim Leonard’s lesson was on “wise people order their lives according to God’s word.”
Zoe Smith and Mona Roberts led singing and worship Prayer requests were received by Clyde Lint. All were encouraged to seek God for wisdom and direction concerning the recent disturbing rulings by the Supreme Court.
Pastor Smith’s sermon was “Peace Be Still” from Mark 4:35-41. He challenged all to ask ourselves “Why Are You Fearful with Jesus Nearby?”
Altamont United Methodist
We welcomed our Gideon representative Larry Dannar from Trenton for sharing the Gideon message. Keep this ministry in your prayers, sharing the “good news” of Jesus Christ.
Choral call to worship was “Sanctuary.” Praise time special was “He Touched Me.” Marilyn’s message was “The Power of Touch and Feel.” Gospel reading was from Mark 5:21-43 about Jairus’ daughter and the woman who touched Jesus’ cloak. Visitors were Silas Dilley, Mellissa Henderson, Jessica Ross and Mia.
A donation was given to the Haiti Water Project. Susie Walton presented a $50 check to the Gideon Society. Continue prayers for Charles Allen. He is improving. UMW Ladies will not meet in July and August.
Gallatin First Christian
The Praise Team began our 8:20 a.m. service with song of praise with Phillip Arnold on keyboard and Barry Morrison on drums. Dennis Croy shared announcements and Elder David Rains gave a children’s message at the 8:20 a.m. service. Pastor Russ Hamilton read Mark 5:21-43, “Schedule.” At the 10:50 a.m. service Barbara Wilson played piano, David Rains shared announcements, and Dan Dreesen gave a children’s message.
Last week Christian Women’s Fellowship hosted their annual Salad Supper with nearly 50 attending. Donations for the local food pantry totaled 86 items.
On July 3, the church office and Lighthouse Learning Center will be closed. Next board meeting is July 8. A congregational meeting will be held after 8:20 a.m. service on July 12 to approve employment of a new part-time office manager replacing Theresa Hamilton as she will begin her seminary classes in August, and a new job as a teacher’s aide in Gallatin. Our archery themed Vacation Bible School begins July 29 to Aug. 1.
Prayer wheel additions: family of Junior (Joe) Dixon, Ron Prewitt, Ron Wilson, Maxine Parker, Monica Rogers, and our first group of church campers going to Crowder in Trenton.
Gallatin First Baptist
Welcome and fellowship time was held. VBS will be July 12-17 from 5:30 to 9 p.m. A meal will be served each evening from 5:30 to 5:50 p.m., except on July 12, (snacks will be served that night). VBS Workshop/Luncheons are July 5 and 12.
Eric Kloepping led prayer and Mike Henderson led singing. Special music was by Linda Arnold. Our guest speaker for the morning was E. J. Barnes, North Grand River Associational Director of Missions. A Celebration Choir Luncheon and Worship was held after morning worship with Phillip Arnold directing. Bro. Barnes also led evening worship.
Adult Bible Study and JOY Youth will meet on Wednesday at 6 p.m. with Men’s Bible Study at 7 p.m. Keenagers will meet for their noon luncheon Thursday, with guest speaker Diann Barnes reporting on the BSU’s recent mission trip to Canada.
Lake Viking
Sunday morning the Lake Viking Church heard a sermon on “The Fruits We Produce” from Pastor Robert Nelson, John 15:1-10.
Lake Viking Church is getting ready for their “Son West Roundup” July 27-31 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. This Vacation Bible School experience is for all ages. For information call 660-663-3914 leave a message if no one answers and we will return your call.
The Ladies Bible Study Group will meet at 10 a.m. on Wednesday in the Fellowship Hall. The Youth Group Meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. and the Adult Evening Bible Study begins at 7 p.m. Come and join us as we study God’s Word.
Lake Viking Church is located just outside the east entrance to Lake Viking. Our Sunday School begins at 9 a.m. and our worship service begins at 10 a.m.
Gallatin United Methodist
Pastor Mike Tipton opened the 11 a.m. worship service with joys and concerns. Karlie Roe and Kendra McMahon served as altar acolytes as Jan played the prelude. Melanie Tipton delivered the children’s message. Special music was a saxophone solo by Drew Leibold, accompanied by his grandmother, Jan Johnson. Pastor Mike Tipton’s sermon, “Don’t Survive, Thrive” was based on scripture Psalm 1.
Hot dog ministry continues each Wed. through the summer from noon-1 p.m., rain or shine. Steve Lien will conduct the church service July 5 while Tiptons are on vacation. July 11 the men’s group will have their lunch fish fry at the Veteran’s Home in Cameron. Meet at the church at 9:30 am.

Friends in Christ
Kim Brammer welcomed everyone, and Mike Earnst led us in prayer. Our praise song was “In the Hands of God.” The sermon series “Wish You Were Here” continued with part four “Somebody Knows.” The message was based on 1 Kings 12:1-19. Small group time followed.
Pattonsburg and Heath Methodist
Starting in July the Pattonsburg and Heath United Methodist Churches will become part of the Bethany charge.
Mike Dunlap, the Bethany minister, will hold combined services the second Sunday of each month at 11 a.m. with communion. These services will alternate between Pattonsburg and Heath. The July 12 service will be at Pattonsburg with a light lunch afterward.
The rest of each month there will be lay speakers, including Bill Hendrix and speakers from the Bethany church.
These services will be at 9 a.m. for Heath and 10:30 a.m. for Pattonsburg.
