Two people were involved in an accident in Livingston County at about 2 p.m. on June 25.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident occurred as Dylan Hulett, 17, Lock Springs, was southbound on Troop Street in Utica. Dylan entered the uncontrolled intersection. His 1998 Chevrolet Blazer was struck in the driver’s door by a 2012 Ford Focus being driven by Phillip Hagen, 80, Utica.

Dylan’s vehicle went off the right side of the roadway and overturned, coming to rest on its passenger side facing east. Mr. Hagen’s vehicle went off the left side of the roadway and came to rest facing west.

Dylan and a passenger in his vehicle, Joseph Vargas, 16, Chillicothe, were taken to Hedrick Medical Center in Chillicothe by Chillicothe Ambulance. Mr. Hagen and a passenger in his vehicle, Marlys Hagan, 78, Utica, were also taken to Hedrick. All involved had minor injuries and all were wearing seat belts, except Joseph.

The accident was investigated by Tpr. J.C. Gilliland, assisted by the Livingston County Sheriff and Chillicothe EMS.
