Funeral services for Wanda Hesler will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, June 26, 2015, at the Jamesport Baptist Church. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the church. Friends may call after 12 noon on Thursday at McWilliams Funeral Home in Jamesport. Burial will be at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery near Chillicothe. Memorial contributions may be made to Jamesport Baptist Church or Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in care of McWilliams Funeral Home.
Wanda Lee Hesler, 84, Jamesport, died June 22, 2015.
Wanda was born March 9, 1931, in rural Livingston County, the daughter of Rollie and Edna (Akers) Reeter. She was a 1949 graduate of Jamesport High School, and went on to work as a telephone operator in Gallatin.
On June 8, 1952, she was united in marriage to Donald Hesler in Brimson. The couple made their home on the J.C. Penney Farm for several years before relocating to the Jamesport area in 1961. Wanda stayed home to raise their children, but she would often clean houses and businesses, including the bank and the church.
Wanda was a member of the Jamesport Baptist Church.
Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Donald Hesler in 2000, son Ronnie Hesler, daughter Elizabeth Goerne, and granddaughter Jackie Skipper.
Wanda is survived by four daughters, Debbie Skipper and husband Gary of Chillicothe, Brenda Wahlers and husband Tim of Jamesport, Lorie Souders and husband Troy, of Jamesport, and Judy Newton and husband Wayne of Tehechapi, Calif.; two brothers, Richard Reeter and wife Helen, and Delbert Reeter and wife Joyce, all of Chillicothe; a sister, Juanita Shafer and husband Jim of Chillicothe; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
