Two people from the area received minor injuries in an accident that happened at about 4:22 p.m. on June 1, at Hwy. 6 and Hwy. 146 about three miles west of Trenton.

According to the highway patrol, Herbert Carpenter was driving a 1999 Ford F-150 and Robert Skipper, 67, Chillicothe, was driving a 2011 Ford Ranger westbound on Hwy. 6. About three miles west of Trenton, Mr. Skipper stopped to make a left turn. Mr. Carpenter’s vehicle struck Mr. Skipper’s vehicle in the rear. Mr. Carpenter’s vehicle came to rest off the south side of Hwy. 6 facing southwest and Mr. Skipper’s vehicle was driven to a controlled stop on the westbound shoulder facing westbound.

Mr. Carpenter was treated at the scene by Grundy County EMS. A passenger in the Skipper vehicle, Kimberly Donaho, 45, Chillicothe, was taken by Grundy County EMS to Wright Memorial Hospital in Trenton. Both had minor injuries and both were wearing their seat belts.

The F-150 had extensive damage and the Ranger was totaled.
