County Commission
Bills were reviewed and approved.
Road & Bridge crew have been cleaning up roads around the county. The following areas are ones the crew has completed: 170th Street, Sheridan Twp – hauled in rip-rap; Major Avenue, Union Twp – hauled in rip-rap and road rock; 235th Street, Grand River Twp – dug pipe back down and placed rip-rap; Key Avenue, Marion Twp – hauled rip-rap. Crew will finish clean-up of storm damage repair this week and next.
Dave Linville discussed with Commissioners regarding 175th Street in Sheridan Township.
Phil Showalter, Lock Springs Special Road District, discussed road maintenance issues.
Commissioners signed Region H 2015 agreement with County’s Region H and the Buchanan County Region H Homeland Security Regional Response System.
George Winger, Sheridan Township, and Solomon Bontrager discussed the recently purchased chipper shredder and the methods of cutting and removing the brush.
Commissioners spoke with Corey Sloan regarding storm damage regarding emergency funding.
Dave Cox attended Lock Springs City Council meeting last week.
Commissioners participated in a SWOT analysis regarding Daviess County.
Denise Caven discussed paperwork with Commissioners regarding LEPC.
In the afternoon commission inspected roads, bridges and brush in Colfax, Liberty, Salem and Grand River Townships.

Associate Circuit Court
Defendants found guilty to the Associate Division of the Circuit court of Daviess County, Missouri, are listed below with the offense and fine assessed. Additionally, court costs collected for the State of Missouri amount to $68.50 for moving traffic violations, and $116.50 in most criminal cases.
Judge Daren L. Adkins presided over the following cases: Terry Wilson Jr., Belton, No valid license (reinstated), $150 fine; Andrew Collier, Kansas City, Driving while revoked, $300 fine; Brandon Bush, Coffey, No valid license, $300 fine; Trevor Desselle, Lathrop, two counts Nonsupport – SIS Probation revoked, three months jail, suspended execution of sentence, two years probation for each count; Howard Trabue, Independence, Speeding, Suspended Imposition of Sentence, two years probation, 30 hours community service, Failed to drive right half of road, Suspended Imposition of Sentence, 2 years probation, six hours community service; Steven L. Evans, New Boston, No valid license (prior offender), two days jail; Lester Edwards, Sioux City, Iowa, No valid license, $300 fine; Melvin R. Turner Jr., Altamont, No valid license, Suspended Imposition of Sentence, two years probation, 30 hours community service, No seat belt, $10 fine, Driving while suspended amended by Suspended Imposition of Sentence, two years probation, Prosecuting attorney to no valid license, 30 hours community service, Andrew Mugan, Tyler, Texas, No valid license, $150 fine, Abandon Motor Vehicle, five days jail.
Honorable J. Bart Spear Presided Over the Following Case: Darrel Bell Jr., Trenton, Driving while intoxicated – probation revoked, 40 days jail, $500 fine.
Circuit Court
Ashley M Huff received a change of venue to Livingston County. Domestic Assault – 3rd Degree – 1st/2nd Offense (Misdemeanor A); Assault/Attempt Assault – L/E, C/O, E/P, Hwy Wkr In Construction/Wrk Zone, Utility Wrkr Or P&P – Physical Contact-3d Deg; Property Damage 1st Degree (Felony D); Resisting/Interfering With Arrest, Detention Or Stop (Misdemeanor A).
Cases bound over from the Associate Division to the Circuit Court are as follows:
A jury trial was set for Devin C. First on August 31 on charges Property Damage 2nd Degree (Misdemeanor B) and Tampering With a Victim/Witness or Attempt Tampering w/Victim (Misdemeanor A).
A jury trial was set for Sept. 25 for Christopher E Moss. Mr. Moss plead guilty to Operated Vehicle On Hwy Without Valid License – 3rd And Subsequent Offense (Felony D), and to DWI – Alcohol – Prior Offender (Misdemeanor A). A sentencing assessment report has been ordered.
Joshua Stewart plead guilty to Dist/Del/Manf/Produce Or Attempt To Or Possess W/Intent To Dist/Del/Manf/Produce A Controlled Substance (Felony B). A sentencing assessment report has been ordered.
Matthew R. Berry plead guilty to Atmp-Trafficking In Stolen Identities ( Felony C). He was sentenced to four years in the Department of Corrections, concurrent to all counts and consecutive to any other sentences being served. Mr. Berry plead guilty to Possession Of Up To 35 Grams Marijuana (Misdemeanor A) and was sentenced to 53 days incarceration in the county jail; Unlawful Use Of Drug Paraphernalia (Misdemeanor A) and was sentenced to 53 days incarceration in the county jail; Operate Vehicle On Highway Without A Valid License – 1st Offense (Misdemeanor Unclassified) and was fined $300; Exceeded Posted Speed Limit (Exceeded By 16 – 19 Mph) (Misdemeanor C) and was sentenced to 15 days incarceration in the county jail.
