Gallatin United Methodist
The prelude played as Mady Tipton and Izzy Urton lit the candles to start the worship service. Melanie Tipton delivered the Children’s message, “Let Your Light Shine.” Pastor Mike based his sermon “Come Holy Spirit, Come” on scripture Acts 2:1-21. A short congregational meeting was held immediately following the worship service.
May 26, UMW meets at Terry Pierce’s home at 7. The Methodist hot dog ministry starts May 27 from 12 -1 and continues each Wednesday through the summer. The community is invited to come eat a free hot dog and chips located on the south side of the church. Prayer concerns added to the list are for the Dennis Steigerwalt family and the Gene Schweizer family.
Gallatin First Baptist
Bro. Garrett led a time of fellowship and welcome. Jim Ruse led prayer time. The Celebration Choir led the call to worship “Mighty is Our God.” Macy McNeely presented the morning special “Mighty to Save.”
Bro. Garrett’s message was “Observing Two Commands from our Father,
Results in others Rejoicing” from II John 4-6. Sunday evening Jeremy Ripple and Bro. Garrett led the Bible Study.
Please join us each Wednesday evening at 6 for Adult Bible Study. JOY Youth will also be meeting at 6 p.m. Wednesday, and Men’s Bible Study at 7 p.m. Women’s Wellness Ministry will meet Thursday at 6:15 pm.
Keenagers delivered dolls and other gifts to Diann Barnes for the BSU mission trip May
29 thru June 6 to White Dog Indian Reserve School in Canada. Keenagers will meet for their noon luncheon on June 4. Deanna Lewis from AARC will be sharing several items of interest for senior adults. A Pioneer Club Luncheon will be held after morning worship, June 7.
Friends in Christ
Shonna Morrison welcomed everyone and opened with prayer. Praise songs were, “Breathe” and “Amazing Love.” The message was “Doubt Not,” which was the final sermon in the series entitled, “The N Commandments.” The message was based on John 6:67-69. Small group time followed the message.
Coffey Baptist
The hymn “Praise God, From Whom All Blessings Flow” opened our morning worship service, followed with greetings and prayer from Pastor Eldon. “Trusting Jesus” was our next hymn. The children message was from Matthew 19:13-26. Announcements followed. Elanson and Juanita Holcomb will observe their 66th wedding anniversary on May 29. They will appreciate receiving a card from friends.
Our special music was “Moment by Moment.” No evening Sunday service. Bible study Wednesday evening at 6. May 31, following morning worship service, will be our monthly noon luncheon followed with a business meeting. Pastor Eldon’s message was on the need to give thanks taken from Psalms 118:21-29.
Altamont United Methodist
A Day of Pentecost was held Sunday when the flames of faith danced in our hearts. Susie Walton and Pastor Marilyn decorated the sanctuary with red candles and balloons.
Pastor’s message was “Let’s Party.” Michelle Anthuis read from John 16:4-15, “The Work of the Holy Spirit.” Bertie Stith gave the devotional “Bibles Given in Jesus’ Name.” Closing hymn was “Something Beautiful, Something Good.” Our heartfelt sympathy to the family of Gene Schweizer. Joins us Sunday as we celebrate the sacrament of holy communion.
Gallatin Assembly of God
The adult Sunday School lesson was about “Pentecost.” Jim Leonard taught the lesson referring to Acts 2 and 4. He showed how Holy Spirit baptism gives the church power to witness.
The morning service began with “We Come Into His Presence.” Ina McFee and Mona Roberts led the congregation in singing. Pastor Smith took prayer requests and agreed with the congregation in prayer for requests. He also heard praise reports which caused us to rejoice.
Veterans present were recognized for their service to our country, which gives us freedom to worship. Berana Leonard blessed us with a special number.
Dr. Ray Brewer, the district superintendent, ministered to us by sharing some positive reports and bringing the message. His test was from Matthew 6:5-15, “Teach Us to Pray.”
Gallatin First Christian
Our Praise Team, Sue Bird, and Barry Morrison playing the drums began our 8:20 a.m. worship service with songs of praise. Dennis Croy shared announcements at the 8:20 service and David Rains shared the announcements at the 10:50 service. A children’s message was shared by the McCampbell family (8:20 a.m.), and Dan Dreesen (10:50 a.m.).
Junior Stith read scripture from John 1:1-5 and Genesis 1:3-26 and shared “And the Power and the Glory Forever.” Barbara Wilson played the piano and was our song leader at the 10:50 a.m. service. Prayer wheel updates: family of Evelyn Lawrence, family of Gene Schweizer, Cathy Maddox, Charlene Caraway, Ann Mae Cooper, and Carol Hester.
Pattonsburg Christian
Scripture reading was II Corinthians 5: 1-10. Rev. Terry’s sermon “Liberty” was from Galatians 5:13-15 and Genesis 2:15-17. Remember in prayer Merlin Bozarth, Betty McFee, Trevor Teel, Jeanne Oliphant, Lonnie Carter, Betty McNeely, Jim Waggoner, Kelly Vanderslice, Kathy Herderson, and the family of Betty Rouner.
