Lake Viking

Pastor Robert Nelson preached on “I’m in the Lord’s Army” and included a special time of prayer for Clint Alexander who will be entering military service this next week. The special music was provided by Johnny Brown and Pastor Robert Nelson. They sang “Ain’t God Good”  and “Thank You Lord for Your Blessings on Me.”

The Ladies Bible Study Group will meet at 10 a.m. on Wednesday. The Youth Group meets at 6:30 Wednesday evening and the Adult Evening Bible Study Group meet at 7. You do not have to attend the Lake Viking Church to be a part of any of these groups. Come and join with us as we study God’s Word.

Lake Viking Church is located just outside the main entrance to Lake Viking. Our worship service begins at 10am each Sunday.

Gallatin United Methodist

The prelude was played by Jan Johnson as Karlie Roe and Pryce Johnson lit the candles to start the 11 a.m. worship service. Melanie Tipton delivered the children’s message, “Put out the Welcome Mat.” Pastor Mike based his sermon, “Favoritism, Not in Here,” on James 2:1-13. There will be a congregational meeting immediately after worship service May 24. Everyone is urged to attend.

May 20, 6:30 p.m. SPRC meeting at Gallatin Church; May 26, UMW meets at Terry Pierce’s home at 7; No dine in/carry out in May. Hot dog ministry starts Wed. May 27 from 12-1 and continues each Wednesday through the summer. The community is invited to come eat a free hot dog/chips on the south side of the church. Prayer concerns added to the list are for Terry Hamilton.

Gallatin First Baptist

Bro. Garrett led a time of fellowship and welcome at the beginning of the service. A Special Parent/Child Dedication Service was held at the beginning of the service led by Stan Ray. Darrell Critten led intercessory prayer time. The Celebration Choir led the call to worship, and congregational music was led by Mike Henderson. Jonathan Arnold presented the morning special music. Bro. Garrett’s message was “We See Five Ways God Shows He Cares for the Needy” from Ruth 2:17-23.

On Wednesday evening, Adult Bible Study and JOY Youth will meet at 6 p.m., and Men’s Bible Study at 7 p.m. Women’s Wellness Ministry will meet Thursday evening at 6:15 p.m. Youth Camp at Grand Oaks will be on June 22-26, and applications must be in the office by May 20.

Coffey Baptist

Pastor Eldon welcomed the congregation and gave the opening prayer, followed with the singing of our praise hymn. Prayer for our nation, state, and community was followed with the children’s message. “Tell me the story of Jesus” was our next hymn. A responsive reading in stewardship, and the birthday greetings were preceding our special music “Great is His Faithfulness.”

Announcements were given and again the last reminder to get applications for youth camp into Pastor Eldon by May 22 at 5 p.m. Please remember in prayer, visits, or phone calls those who are ill, homebound or in the hospital. They are in need of our encouragement. Our message was from Nehemiah 1: 2-4. Bible study Wednesday evening at 6 p.m.

Friends in Christ

We were welcomed by Shonna Morrison. Praise songs were “One Thing Remains” and “Word of God Speak.” Opening prayer was by Peggy Earnst. The message was part five of the series “The N Commandments” and was entitled “Judge Not.” The scripture was from Matthew 7:1-5. Small group time followed the message.

Pattonsburg Christian

Scripture reading was from II Corinthians 1:3-7. Rev. Terry’s sermon “Holy Spirit” was from Genesis 1. Remember in prayer Merlin Bozarth, Betty McFee, Trevor Teel, Jeanne Oliphant, Lonnie Carter, Betty McNeely, Jim Waggoner, Kelly Vanderslice, Kathy Henderson.
