Assessor’s Office

Penalties will be applied on Friday, May 1, for assessment sheets that have not been received at the assessor’s office by Thursday, April 30.

County Commission

James Lewis, road and bridge supervisor, and the crew will be continuing this week on the bridge on 242nd Street. In Harrison Township they will perform clean-up on a culvert on Waltz Avenue and cleanup on the low water crossing on 285th Street.

Bills were reviewed and approved.

Commissioners signed an agreement with Daviess County Special Road District #1 for maintenance of CART roads for the special road district.

Solomon Bontrager and David Allen discussed brush removal contracting with the county. Carl Carder moved to have Solomon Bontrager contracted at $80 an hour for brush removal in the county. Motion seconded by David Cox. Motion carried.

The Ministerial Alliance will have a service for National Day of Prayer on May 7 at noon by the flag pole.

The commissioners received BRO Program Agreement for Project No. BRO-B031(35) from MoDOT.

The Colfax Township Notice to Proceed for CART gravel/rock was submitted by the commissioners and sent to quarry.

Bob Burnett, Snyder & Associates, submitted information on plans and specifications regarding Bridge No. 3590006 on the replacement of the bridge.

Phil Tate, interim city administrator for Gallatin, discussed the new administrator position that was recently filled.

In the afternoon the commission inspected roads, bridges and brush in Washington, Liberty, Sheridan and Union Township.

Circuit Court

Cases bound over from the Associate Division: State vs. Geoffrey Krum, Austin, Texas, possession of controlled substance, class C felony, possession of marijuana and paraphernalia, class A misdemeanors;

State vs. Tyree J. Campbell, Kansas City, Kan., two counts of possession of controlled substance with intent to distribute, class B felony; unlawful use of weapon, class D felony, five counts of endangering welfare of child, class C felony; three misdemeanors of unlawful use of drug paraphernalia, speeding, and no valid license;

State vs. Anthony Duran, Sterling, Ill., two counts possession of controlled substance, class C felony, possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, misdemeanors;

State vs. Kevin L. Qualls, Kansas City, two counts of unlawful use of weapon, class D felony, endangering welfare of child first degree, class C felony, three misdemeanors of speeding, possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Civil cases filed: State of Missouri ex rel vs. Kimberly Riddle, Jamesport, certificate of lien, DOR, taxes.

Associate Division

Before Judge Daren Adkins on April 27, Shannon Hale, Jamesport, and Craig D. Hunt, Des Moines, Iowa, plead guilty to traffic offenses and were fined.

Civil Court

Breach of contract: Synchrony Bank vs. Carlin E. Sperry was dismissed by the parties.

Suits on account: Midwestern Health Management vs. Michael T. Ward et al and Discover Bank vs. Frances M. Sprinkle were dismissed by the parties.

Municipal Court

The following cases were heard by Judge Daren Adkins on April 13:

Tyler L. Rogers, Gallatin, was fined $150 for property damage.

Danielle N. Turner was fined $50 for peace disturbance and sentenced to four days in the county jail for miscellaneous controlled substance.

Christopher D. Pettie, Gallatin, was fined $150 for drug paraphernalia, and sentenced to two days in the county jail for miscellaneous controlled substance.

Benjamin M. Claibourn, Gallatin was sentenced to 4 days jail for minor in possession.

Ronald G. Wilson, Gallatin, was fined $50 for miscellaneous ordinance violation.

Kelly May Walker, Gallatin, was fined $120.50 for equipment violation.

Amanda B. Shubert, Gallatin, was fined $150 for equipment violation.

William D. Reynolds, Gallatin, was fined $167.50 for speeding.

Katie N. Whitt, Princeton, was fined $67.50 for speeding.

Ronald Wayne Hogan, Gallatin, was fined $15.50 for animal nuisance and $10.50 for animal license.
