Funeral services for Dorothy Tinsley were held Monday at the Tenth Street Baptist Church in Trenton. Family suggests memorials to Grundy County Food Panty, which may be left at Slater Funeral Home, Trenton.

Dorothy Anne Tinsley died on April 16, 2015, at her home in Trenton.

Dorothy was born on Sept. 29, 1932, in Milan to parents Earl and Gladys Burton.

After graduating Milan High School, she attended college in Kirksville, later returning to Milan as a school teacher. She developed the first Head Start School program in Milan.

She also worked as a secretary and office manager retiring into a career as a real estate agent/broker in Trenton from 1987 to 1998.

She was a member of the Hodge Presbyterian Church.

She married William M. Tinsley on April 10, 1981, who passed in 2008.

Survivors include four children, Earl (Tony) Burton, Johny Bradshaw, Johnnie Martin Bradshaw, and Mary (Johnny) Tredway; one sister Judy (Robert) Kelly; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
