Churches throughout Daviess County have announced special Easter worship services to recognize, honor, and celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
A “Good Friday” Ministerial Alliance Service will be held at 7 p.m. at the First Assembly of God Church with Pastor Robert Nelson of Lake Viking Church preaching. A community Choir will be presenting special music.
The following is a summary of local, public worship services for Easter submitted for publication here:
Altamont United Methodist — Maundy service 7 p.m. tomorrow; Easter Sunday morning worship followed by a traditional Easter Egg Hunt for youth.
Breckenridge United Methodist — Come-and-Go Communion Service from noon to 1 p.m. on Good Friday, April 3; Community Easter Sunrise Service at 7 a.m. followed by a light breakfast, and Easter worship service at 9:30 a.m.
Coffey Baptist — Easter Sunday Sunrise service at 7 a.m. and breakfast to follow at 8 a.m. Sunday School at 9:45 and church service at 11 a.m.
Gallatin First Baptist — The Celebration Choir will present AArise, My Love@ during Easter Sunday worship which begins at 10:40 a.m. The musical=s centerpiece song, a contemporary Christian classic from 1987, tells the Easter story majestically.
Gallatin First Christian — Maundy 7 p.m. tomorrow to reenactment the Last Supper; Special Easter Sunrise Service at 7 a.m. on the hill by the three crosses, followed by coffee and doughnuts. One combined unity Easter Sunday Service at 9:30 a.m. followed by an Easter egg hunt for children.
Gallatin United Methodist: Maundy Thursday service will be April 2 at Jamesport at 6 p.m.; Men=s Prayer Breakfast at 7 a.m. Saturday, April 4; Easter worship service Sunday.
Friends in Christ — Easter Sunday sunrise service at 6:45 a.m. at the gazebo in Dockery Park for worship and communion with a breakfast following at the church.
Lake Viking Church — 7 a.m. sunrise service on April 5, followed by a breakfast of biscuits and gravy. Sunday School will meet at 9 a.m. and the regular worship service will begin at 10 a.m.
Olive Baptist Church — Easter Sunday Sunrise services at 8 am. followed by a breakfast; Sunday School at 8:30 a.m., morning worship at 9:30 a.m. with a traditional Easter egg
hunt to follow.
Pattonsburg Christian Church — Easter breakfast and egg hunt at 9 a.m. Easter Sunday.
