Of the 25 members from Gallatin FCCLA who participated in the regional STAR Event, 15 are advancing to the National STAR Events Competition to be held July 5-9 in Washington, DC.
On March 22-24, 25 FCCLA members competed in the State Leadership Conference and STAR Events competition in Columbia. Students Taking Action with Recognition is competitive events in which FCCLA members are recognized for proficiency and achievement in chapter and individual projects, leadership skills and occupational preparation.
The GHS FCCLA STAR Events results are as follows:
Career Investigation, Jr.: Melissa Henderson: Bronze
Life Event Planning, Jr.: Megan Cox and Cora Stout: Bronze
Advocacy, Sr.: Maile Cook: Bronze
Environmental Ambassador, Sr.: Gabby Johnson and Kaia Mehlberg: Bronze
Interior Design, Sr.: Klark Critten and Chloe Simmons: Silver
Focus On Children, Sr.: Mariah Huston and Kaitlyn Bird: Silver
Sports Nutrition, Jr.: Graydee Rains, Klayton Lynch, and Tayton Terry: Gold and advancing to Nationals in DC
Parliamentary Procedure, Sr.: Sami Boyd, Macon Allen, Courtney Shubert, Hayley Michael, Maria Bickford, Briar Roll, and Gabby Gibson: Top Gold and advancing to Nationals in DC
Interpersonal Communications, Jr.:
Team 1: Addi Stanley, Zoe Bradford, and Ally Johnson: Top Gold and advancing to Nationals in DC
Team 2: Addison Burns and Aubrey Feiden: Gold and advancing to Nationals in DC
Also, attending the State Leadership Conference were chapter officer Kharlie Tompkins and member Courtney Hunt. Both served as state STAR Events judges and represented the chapter as voting delegates.
