Funeral services for William Abels were held March 31, 2015, at Rupp Funeral Home. Interment was at the Savannah Cemetery.

William “Bill” Abels, 85, St. Joseph, died Saturday, March 28, 2015, at a St. Joseph health care center.
He was born April 4, 1929, in Andrew County, son of Rada and Thomas Abels.
He served in the United States Navy, and worked as a Carpenter. He was a Baptist.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents; five sisters; and a grandson, Levi Bledsoe.
Survivors include seven children, Tom Abels of St. Joseph, Crystal White (Tim Bacon) of St. Joseph, Kathy (Bill) Bledsoe of Kansas City, Kerlin (Bridget) Abels of Winston, Karlon (Linda) Abels of St. Joseph and William J. “Billy” Abels Jr. of St. Joseph; 15 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
