Gallatin Music Department solos and ensembles in both music and band earning a “1” rating will be traveling to state on May 1 after participating in the Northwest District Music Contest.
Students participating in the district contest, which took place at Saint Joseph Central High School on Saturday, March 28, were rated as follows:
Instrumental solos “1” ratings: Wyatt Owings, tuba; Sam Coulson, trumpet; Coby Brogan, trombone; Coby Brogan, baritone horn; Jade Wayne, clarinet; Jasmine Ramirez, clarinet. Instrumental ensembles “1” ratings: Coby Brogan, Jonah Flanders, Patrick McNickle and Wyatt Owings, low brass quartet; Jade Wayne, Jasmine Ramirez and Kira Williams, clarinet trio.
Vocal solos “1” ratings: Gabrielle Gibson, Ariel Harper, Jasmine Ramirez and Taylor Harper. Vocal ensembles “1” ratings: Ariel Harper, Gabrielle Gibson, Jasmine Ramirez and Jessica Lichfield, SSAA quartet; Emily Andersen, Megan Redman, Abigail Marble, Marrissa Byrom, Taylor Harper and Mychaela Fawson, SSA sextet; Maria Bickford, Ariel Harper, Gabrielle Gibson, Jasmine Ramirez and Jessica Lichfield, miscellaneous vocal ensemble.
Instrumental solo “2” ratings: Jonah Flanders, trombone; Patrick McNickle, trombone; Jeremy Ruth, snare drum, Jarod Rains, alto sax. Instrumental ensembles “2” rating: Sam Coulson, Natalie Marble and Jacob Wilson, trumpet trio; Ty Hanson, Briar Roll, Jeremy Ruth and John Gibson percussion quartet. Vocal solos “2” ratings: Mattison Ishmael, Emily Andersen and Abigail Marble.
Instrumental “3” rating: Marrissa Byrom, flute. Vocal solos “3” ratings: Megan Redman and Ty Hanson.
Sue Bird and Emily McKinnon accompanied the musicians. They have put in many hours of practice time to perform with GHS students.
