Gallatin’s Jett Simmons shot a round of 37 to come away with the medalist award from last Thursday’s triangular golf meet held at Maysville. Simmons’s award helped propel the Bulldogs to a team victory over Hamilton and the host team.

Simmons’s round was two strokes better than rounds of 39 shot by runnersup Hunter Cornelius and Ethan Green of Hamilton. Gabe Cole shot 40 for Gallatin and Bradley Rhoades added a 41. Grant Simmons and Logan Burns each carded a 45 for the Bulldogs.

Gallatin golfers combined for a total of 163 to edge Hamilton (167) and defeat Mayville (201).

The Bulldogs also came away winners in junior varsity competition, besting Hamilton and Maysville, 189 to 221 to 227.

Wyatt Bird’s round of 45 topped the jayvee event. Kase Critten shot 46, Sam Coulson shot 57, Colin Beck carded a 51 and Klark Critten added a 52.

Hamilton beat Gallatin for first place in a score card playoff at the Orrick Tournament after both teams finished with combined totals of 243.

The team of Rhoades and Grant Simmons combined for 77 to win the tournament. Bird and Jett Simmons combined for a fifth place 81. Burns and Cole shot 85.
