GHS student Maile Cook has been working recently on an FCCLA project about ending childhood hunger. Over the past several months, she has presented to groups of students about the childhood hunger trends locally and nationally. Her goal is to give the students an idea of how many children in our school suffer from childhood hunger, and persuade them to help or take a stand in our community. Through Second Harvest Community Food bank the Gallatin school is able to send bags of food home to children who qualify for them every Friday. The Gallatin School District currently serves 62 children in the elementary and nine in the high school with a backpack of nutritious food for the weekend. [Submitted Photo]
