Silas Buckland, 70, Jameson, was fatally injured in an accident that happened on I-35 in Clinton County at about 3:26 p.m. on Feb. 18.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Mr. Buckland was northbound on I-35 driving a 2006 Toyota Highlander. His vehicle traveled into the median and the front undercarriage struck a gravel crossover, causing it to become airborne. The vehicle then struck the ground in the median and overturned numerous times. Mr. Buckland was ejected through the driver’s side window.

The vehicle came to rest facing west on its passenger side in the median.

Mr. Buckland was pronounced by Clinton County Coroner Kathy Little at 4:21 p.m.

The accident was investigated by Sgt. L.M. Newman, assisted by Capt. J.E. McDonald, Lt. W.S. Sims, Sgt. J.H. Thompson, Sgt. A.A. Henry, Cpl. M.S. Belshe, Tpr. A.K. Griffin, and Clinton County Sheriff’s Office.
