Gallatin, Stanberry and Princeton trail Braymer by one game in the loss column. The Bobcats sport a 7-0 record with league games remaining against King City and Princeton. Gallatin, 5-1, must face South Harrison, Princeton and Stanberry down the stretch. In addition to Gallatin, defending champion Stanberry must match up against Albany and Worth County.

Colten Beck drives hard down the right side of the lane for a layup against the King City Wildkats. Beck led Gallatin with 17 points in the win.

The Bulldogs needed all 32 minutes to prevent an upset by a much-improved Maysville team on Tuesday. The Wolverines led by as many as nine points in the second quarter but a focused third period led to a 41-35 lead on the heels of a Brandon Bradley steal and layup.

Jacob Boyd’s steal and layup pushed the GHS lead to 57-47 with 3:06 remaining in the game but the Wolverines clawed back to 59-55 with less than a minute left. Skyler Zimmerman, who hit four treys for the Wolverines, led the charge for his team down the stretch.

Boyd led a trio of Bulldogs into double figures with 19 points. Harris Cameron finished with 18 and Grant Simmons contributed 11 points on the strength of three three-pointers.

Bulldogs 61, KC 42

Like the Lady Bulldogs, Gallatin’s boys started slow but picked up head of steam in the second half. The Bulldogs trailed, 11-8, after the opening quarter but built a 27-16 lead by intermission, on their way to a 61-42 victory.

Colten Beck led the Bulldogs with a season-high 17 points. Cameron chipped in 13.
