Funeral services for Wanda Brown will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 12, at the Coffey Baptist Church. Visitation will be one-hour prior at the church. Friends may call after 11 a.m. Wednesday at McWilliams Funeral Home in Gallatin. Burial will be at the Coffey Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Coffey Cemetery in care McWilliams Funeral Home, 1329 W. Grand, Gallatin.

Wanda L. Brown, 81, Coffey, died Feb. 9, 2015, at her home.

Wanda was born April 30, 1934, the daughter of Arch and Dorothy (Burton) Holley in New Hampton. She graduated from Coffey High School in 1952 and began working at the Hamilton Shoe Factory for a short period of time.

Wanda was united in marriage to John Brown on Jan. 31, 1953, in Coffey, where the couple lived their entire married life.

Wanda’s focus was her family as well as being a farm wife. In her later years she was employed at the Lambert Cap Factory in Gallatin and Crestview Nursing Home in Bethany as a cook.

Wanda was baptized at the age of 15 and was a longtime member of the Coffey Baptist Church. She also was a member of the Order of Eastern Star.

Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Melvin Holley, sisters, Norma Jean Watkins, Donna Rhea Stewart and Shirley Ann Holley, grandsons, Jason and Jessie Brown, daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Brown and son-in-law Roger Loxterman.

Survivors include her husband of 61 years, John Brown of the home; children, Sandra (Rocky) Lane of Houston, Texas, Diana (Jerry) Rouner of Jameson, Debra (Donnie) Harper of Gallatin, Robert (Anita) Brown of Gallatin, Larry Brown of Cameron, Greg (Brenda) Brown of Cameron, Brent (Marquitta) Brown of Coffey; sister, Barbara Stufflebean of Cameron; brother, Gary Holley of Maysville; 51 grandchildren; 51 great-grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren.
