The parents of John Runde and Lauren Henrichs are proud to announce the marriage of their children. Parents of the couple are Debbie and Dave Cross, Jameson, Patrick Runde, Fort Smith, Ark., and Scott and Cheryl Henrichs, Kearney.
Family and friends celebrated the marriage of John and Lauren Runde on Saturday, Oct. 25, 2014, at Mellon’s Community Hall near Lawson, with Dr. Ken Parker officiating. The outdoor ceremony took place beside a waterfall on a lovely fall afternoon. A reception was held following the ceremony inside the hall and catered by Stroud’s of Kansas City with a dance following. The groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner on Friday evening at the same location.
John graduated from Gallatin R-5 High School, North Central Missouri College with an AA degree and Northwest Missouri State University with a BS in Animal Science. Lauren graduated form Kearney High School and Northwest Missouri State University with a BS in elementary education.
Spc. Runde began basic training for the US Army in February, 2013. He graduated from basic training May, 2013, at Fort Benning, Ga. He immediately went to US Army Airborne School, Fort Benning, and graduated in June, 2013. His first duty station is Fort Richardson, Anchorage, Alaska. He is assigned to the 4th Brigade Combat Team (Airborne), 25th Infantry Division, as a paratrooper.
Lauren taught at Elkhorn Elementary School in the Excelsior Springs School District for two years and now teaches at Willard Bowman Elementary School in the Anchorage School District.
Grandparents of the couple are Clinton and Marilyn Durham, Ravenwood, Bernard and the late Mary (Teddy) Runde, Parnell, Dave and Emma Campbell, Kearney, and Margaret and the late Theodore Henrichs, Columbia.
