Ida Beth Nowland, 80, Jamesport, passed away January 28, 2015, at her home.

She was born April 26, 1934, in Jamesport, the daughter of Harry E. and Jessie A. (Thompson) Noll.

Ida Beth grew up on a farm near Jamesport and attended all 12 years of school, graduating in 1952. She attended cosmetology school in St. Joseph.

On August 29, 1956, she married Frank D. Nowland. He passed away April 18, 1974. She was also preceded in death by her parents, twin infant sons, sons, Marcus Dean and Larry Nowland, and sisters, Elinor Gates and Ruth Pellham.

She owned and operated several local businesses including a hair salon and recreation center. For the past 20 plus years, she provided child care services, which she loved, in the Chillicothe and Jamesport areas. Ida Beth was a 4-H leader for many years and taught Sunday school. She volunteered her time at the Mustard Seed. Ida Beth was a member of the Jamesport Baptist Church. She was also a member of the Friendship Circle, Park Board and several other clubs throughout her lifetime. She enjoyed gardening, especially working with her flowers, quilting, visiting with the ladies, reading and crafts. She had a great love for her children and grandchildren and loved to talk about them all.

Survivors include her children, David (Nancy) Nowland, Chillicothe, Jamie (Kim) Nowland, Sweet Springs, Diane (Ron) Garber, Chillicothe, Keith Nowland, Eudora, Kan., Matt (Erin) Nowland, Yuma, Colo., Tricia (Gary) Pittman, Jamesport, and Rex Nowland, Kansas City, Kan.; 18 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren and sister, Harriet (John) Leopard, Gallatin.

Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 31, at the Jamesport Baptist Church, Jamesport, under the direction of Roberson Funeral Home, Jamesport. Burial will follow in the Masonic Cemetery, Jamesport. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Friday at the church where friends may call after 4:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Jamesport Junior Livestock Show in care of Roberson Funeral Home, 503 S.
