Gallatin junior varsity basketball teams swept through both girls’ and boys’ brackets of the Gallatin JV Tournament last week.

The Lady Bulldogs defeated Trenton for the title, 41-27, after dispatching Maysville, 51-11, in the opener.

Cora Stout led Gallatin with 12 points and Hayley Michael added eight in the title victory over Trenton. Megan Cox canned 10 points and Michael and Maelea Coulson each contributed eight in the first round win.

A 16-point effort by Jett Simmons helped lift the Bulldogs to a 49-43 win over Trenton in the boys’ title game. Simmons canned four treys in the contest. Morgan Corwin added 12 for the Bulldogs.

Simmons, Chad Walker and Gabe Cole combined for 31 points in a 41-12 romp over Maysville in the opener. Simmons scored 11. Walker and Cole each dumped in 10 points.

The GJV girls opened play in the Gilman City Tournament with a 46-20 loss to Princeton. Michael and Briar Roll topped Gallatin with six points each.

Gallatin’s jayvee boys beat North Harrison, 54-49, in their Gilman City opener. Colin Beck led with 17 points. Corwin and Simmons each added 13.
