Funeral services for Lon Ann Prindle will be Jan. 27, 2015, at the First Baptist Church in Sweet Springs. Graveside services Tuesday at Coffey Cemetery. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church in care of Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Sweet Springs.

Lon Ann Prindle, 82, Sweet Springs, died Jan. 22, 2015, at her son’s home in rural Oak Grove.
Born June 6, 1932, in Knoxville, Lon Ann was the daughter of the late Georgie Alexander and Crystal Haynes Alexander. She was a 1950 graduate of Polo High School and a 1954 graduate of Central Missouri State Teachers College.
On April 16, 1955, she married Don A. Prindle who preceded her in death on May 20, 2014.
Lon Ann started her career as a home economics teacher. After marriage, she and her husband owned a small grocery store in Coffey. She then became a stay-at-home mother. She went back to teaching when her youngest started school.
Upon moving to Sweet Springs in 1974, the family became members of the First Baptist Church of Sweet Springs. She was involved with Vacation Bible School, helped at the Clothes Closet, and assisted with the Flash program. She taught and was a mentor. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and Rebekah Lodge.
In addition to her parents and husband, Lon Ann was preceded in death by one brother, George William Alexander.
Survivors include two children, Don Alexander (Elizabeth) Prindle of rural Oak Grove and Melody (Jon) Brownfield of Olathe, Kan.; one sister, Marsha (Jim) Campbell of Richmond; and two grandchildren.
