Monday, Feb. 2, 2015, state cost-share sign up begins at 7:30 a.m. Applications will be accepted during the month of February only. Terraces may be signed up at any time during the month. After crops have been harvested the landowner is required to notify the office to have their name added to the terrace stakeout list. The field is required to be dozer ready before terrace layout will start. Landowners may receive cost-share every other year. A terrace practice has a $20,000 maximum cost-share. Structures have a $10,000 maximum cost-share.

A new landowner authorization form effective July 1, 2014, has to be on file or brought in at the time of signup for all cost-share practices. Forms are available at the Soil and Water Conservation Districts Office. Any absentee landowner considering a practice needs to contact the office to acquire a form giving permission to other individuals with signature authority. In case of ownership by a corporation, trustee, or other entity information must list all owners. Cost-share must be provided to the legal landowner as listed on the property deed.
