The work Access II does impacts consumers’ lives directly and has a lasting effect, whether it be providing training and guidance to help someone find a job, or helping someone transition out of a nursing facility back into the comfort of their own home. Consumers may just need some extra support with everyday activities like shopping for groceries, cleaning or cooking a meal. Access II can assist them in overcoming these barriers. They might need someone to explain their rights, their benefits and how to manage changes with healthcare. A parent may need assistance in advocating to get things they need, like a fair education for their child. Maybe they need help installing a wheel-chair ramp so they can easily get in and out of their home, or a TAP telephone so they can hear their grandchildren’s voices when they call. These are simple things that most probably take for granted.

Access II feels that helping people with disabilities gain skills and the ability to live more independently is an investment in their lives, the future and in our communities. If you have any questions about Access II or the services provided, please call (888) 663-2423 or visit www.accessii.org.
