Angelica Echavarria, 40, Kansas City, was arrested at 3:37 p.m. for speeding, registration violation, driving while suspended, failure to stop at stop sign, and resisting arrest by fleeing.
The pursuit started around 3 p.m. on Thursday at the 96mm in Harrison County and sped down the southbound lane through several counties including Daviess and DeKalb and ended in Clinton County.
According to Sgt. Jacob Angle of the MSHP, Cameron Police Officers used spike strips to force the driver off the highway and into the median just south of the Highway BB bridge.
The highway patrol’s plane was overhead during the chase. The chase was reported to have reached up to 105 miles per hour, and Ms. Echavarria ran over several of the spike strips. She was arrested without resistance at the 52mm, after an approximated 50-mile chase.
Ms. Echavarria was held at Cameron Regional Medical Center on an unrelated medical issue and was released. There were no injuries reported.
