Winston’s 6-4 lead over Princeton at the end of the first quarter during action in the NCMC Holiday Hoops was not a preview of things to come. The Redbirds nearly doubled up on the Tigers when it was all over, 50-27.
Winston’s speed and athleticism more than made up for a height disadvantage as the Birds improved to an all-time 9-1 with the start of the new year.
Jordan Leonard paced Winston with 21 points.
In their latest action, the Redbirds defeated Tri-County, 78-25, last night (Wednesday) in HDC Conference play. Calhoon scored 24 points to lead the Redbirds. Leonard and Ethan Hiley added 14 and 12 points, respectively, for the winners.
