Funeral services for Marjorie Beck will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 10, 2015, at the Osborn United Methodist Church. Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Friday evening at Poland-Thompson Funeral Home, Cameron. Marjorie’s wishes were to be cremated after the service. Inurnment at a later date at Osborn Evergreen Cemetery. Memorial donations to the Osborn United Methodist Church.

Marjorie Lilian Beck, 89, Cameron, formerly of Osborn, died on Jan. 4, 2015.

Marjorie was born on May 29, 1925, to Leonard and Lilian (Downes) Rodwell in Penkridge, Staffordshire England

Marjorie was a war bride; she married Eugene Martin Beck on May 8, 1944, in England. Their son Paul was born there in July 1945.

Marjorie and Eugene made their home in Osborn, had three more children and were married for 30 years, eventually divorcing in 1974.

Marjorie became a member of the Osborn United Methodist Church in March 1957.

She worked as a seamstress at Big Smith in St. Joseph and then at the Stride Rite Shoe Factory in Hamilton, each for many years. At times, Marjorie would also help her husband, Eugene at Beck’s Standard Station at the Osborn Junction.

In 2007, she moved to the St. Patrick’s Apartments in Cameron and lived there until November 2013. She then moved to the Cameron Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents; former husband, Eugene in 1986; and son, Mark in 2001.

Survivors include son, Paul (Brenda) Beck, Cameron; two daughters, Suzette Hayter and partner, Mitch Swindler, Cameron, and Sandra (Rick) Bottorff, Kidder; sister, Jean Surridge, Toronto, Canada; 10 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
