Nina Pittsenbarger passed peacefully into the arms of her Lord on Dec. 30, 2014, at the Daviess County Nursing and Rehab.
Funeral services for Nina Pittsenbarger were held Jan. 2, 2015, at McWilliams Funeral Home in Gallatin. Burial at the Fairview Cemetery near McFall. Memorial contributions may be made to the Fairview Community Church in care of the Funeral Home.
Nina Faye Beeler was born July 14, 1919, near Santa Rose, the sixth daughter of Frank and Elsie (Stephenson) Beeler. She attended country school at Centerpoint and some high school at Santa Rosa. Nina attended church at Centerpoint.
On Dec. 28, 1935, she was united in marriage to Frank Pittsenbarger. To this union five children were born; Melvin, Larry, Donald, Linda and Sharon. She and Frank farmed and raised their children on a farm north of Winston. After the children were raised Nina went to work at Highlands Nursing Home in 1968 as a cook. She enjoyed working with the elderly and made lasting relationships with her co-workers. She devoted six years and was always eager to do whatever was needed.
Nina was a member of the Fairview Extension Club and pianist at the Fairview Church for many years. She played solely by ear. When asked why she opened the hymnal while playing, she remarked that she had to read the words to know when to stop.
Nina was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 63 years Frank, her sisters, son Larry and daughter-in-law Sue.
Nina is survived by her son, Don Pittsenbarger and wife Mary Beth of Winston, daughters Linda Steward and husband Bill of Gallatin, Sharon Pittsenbarger of Cameron, and daughter-in-law, Mary Jo Pittsenbarger of Gallatin. Nina has 12 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
