Gallatin First Christian
We celebrated Epiphany Sunday beginning at our 8:20 a.m. worship service with opening songs by the Praise Team and Sue Bird. Kathy Burns read the announcements and led the congregation in prayer at both services. Theresa Hamilton presented a children’s message, and Judy Stith shared the message at the 10:50 a.m. service. Pastor Russ read from Jeremiah 31:10-14, “Unfailing Love.” At the 10:50 a.m. service Kim Ness served as song leader.
Thank you to all who joined us and to those who helped with the Neighborhood Table held December 30th. Upcoming events include a board meeting on Jan. 14 at 7 p.m., and an elder and deacon training on Jan. 18 at 6:30 p.m.
Prayer wheel additions this week: Judy Srca, Henry Cox, Michelle Seagall, Will Lane, Pastor Russ’s aunt Marilyn Hodge on the loss of her daughter, Jodi Lyn Hodge Gibson.

Jesus’ teaching on prayer from Luke 11:1-13 was the lesson focus for Sunday School study. When you start praying say “Father, may your holy name be honored.” A nice letter and donation was received from Deloris Read. We appreciate her devotion to our little church.
Barbara Youtsey returned safely home from Ohio after visiting her daughter Laura and husband Tyler for Christmas. UMW ladies will meet on Jan. 14 to make out new program books for 2015. Susie and Connie Walton observed their 56th wedding anniversary Jan. 4. Prayer needs for better health were requested for Dorothy Duffy.
Gallatin Seventh Day Adventist
Our prayers are for Patrick McBroom and his family, for the people who are sick with any ailments, missing members of our churches. Memory Verse: Proverbs 1:7 “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.” Sabbath School Lesson; “The Call of Wisdom” led by Karen Reed.

Fairview
Services opened with prayer, then we listened to a devotional in reference to Exodus 3:14, “When You’re Feeling Weighted Down.” Sunday School studied “A Model Prayer” from Luke 11:1-13. The message today was “Heaven Came Down” from Matthew 2:13-23. We prayed and enjoyed celebrating “The Lord’s Supper.” Special prayer requests are for the Pittsenbarger family; Patrick McBroom; Kyle Parkhurst; Betty McFee; and Zack Bridgeman.
Lake Viking
“Why are thou cast down, O my soul?” was the title of Pastor Robert Nelson’s sermon from Psalm 42:1-11. The special music was by Katie Hogan. This week we will be back to our regular schedule of meetings after the holidays. On Wednesday morning at 10 a.m. the Ladies Bible Study Group will meet in the Fellowship Hall. At 6:30 p.m. the Youth Group will meet and at 7 p.m. the Adult Bible Study Group will meet. Thursday the choir will meet to practice at 6:30 p.m.
Lake Viking Church is located just outside the east entrance to Lake Viking. Come and worship with us. Our Sunday School begins at 9 a.m. and our worship service begins at 10 a.m.
Gallatin First Baptist
Jim Ruse led intercessory prayer, and the Celebration Choir led call to worship with “O The Blood of Jesus.” Bro. Garrett’s message was from Genesis 22. Lord’s Supper was served by our deacons. “The Truth Project” was continued on Sunday evening, led by Jeremy Ripple and Bro. Garrett. EPIC Youth also met at 6 p.m.
The Celebration Choir will begin practice Jan. 6 at 6 p.m. Pioneer Club and EPIC Youth will meet on Jan. 7 at 5:30 p.m., and Men’s Bible Study will meet at 7:30 p.m. Keenagers noon lunch will be held on Jan. 8. The Keenagers will also be having a workshop for their next mission dolls project starting at 10 a.m. Jan. 12.
There will be a Red Cross Blood Drive held on Jan. 12 from 3 to 7 p.m. in Fellowship Hall, if you have any questions or would like to set up an appointment to donate blood, please contact Myrlene Heldenbrand at 663-3593. A baby shower will be held for Whitney Sidebottom on Jan. 17 in fellowship hall at 10 a.m. Ladies Bible Study will resume at 6 p.m. on Jan. 19.
Gallatin United Methodist
Pastor Mike’s message was “Aha! Have a Godly Epiphany” based on Isaiah 60: 1-6. Peyton and Pryce lit the altar candles as the prelude was being heard. The children’s message by Pastor Mike was “We are all beautiful, just not perfect.” The congregation was led to the altar for communion as Pastor Mike and Melanie delivered the sacraments. A prayer shawl will be delivered to Mary Sullenger by Pat Yost. Jan. 8 at 7 will begin Lenten Bible study at Sweatman’s home.
Jan. 11 after church service will be the monthly board meeting. Jan. 25 will be dine in/carry out after worship service. Continued prayer concerns are for all on our prayer chain with Pastor Mike’s aunt added to our list.
Friends in Christ
Shonna Morrison welcomed everyone and opened with prayer. Praise songs were “One Thing Remains” and “Come to the River.” Prayer concerns were shared and Peggy Earnst lifted up the requests in prayer. The sermon was “Doing for Those Who Don’t.” Shonna Morrison closed the service with prayer. Small group time followed the service.
Pattonsburg Christian
Scripture reading was from Luke 2:41-52. Rev. Terry’s sermon “Jesus Amazes Scholars” was from Matthew 2:13-23.
