Todd Schuler and Wayne Kauffman with the State Auditor’s Office informed the city that the state audit will begin in the next couple of weeks.

Public comments were made regarding the city sales tax and its use, the city pool’s operation and finances. Discussion was also held on the buildings located on the northwest corner of the square.

Police Chief Mark Richards submitted a report on activity from Nov. 10 to Dec. 8 with the following reports taken and tickets given: 3-Dog at-large; 1-Possible suicide; 2-Report requests; 1-Suspicious person; 1-Warrant served; 1-Elderly abuse; 1-Car fire; 1-Unattended child; 1-Property damage; 1-Peace disturbance; 1-Request for extra patrol; 1-Welfare check; 2-Hang-up calls to 911. There are eight dogs in the pound.

Police Chief Richards discussed the dog ban ordinances relating to pit bulls.

Bills in the amount of $334,409.75 were approved for payment. Discussion was held on the transition to People Service at the wastewater plant.

Comments were made regarding budget projections for revenue and expense.

Discussion was held on the 2015 Budget; and 2015 Great Northwest Days at the Capitol. The city donated $500 to the Daviess County Great Northwest Days committee.

Aldermen commented on street light repairs and street work on Prospect Street.

The board entered into closed session pursuant to lease purchase, real estate; and hiring, firing, disciplining or promoting employees.

City Administrator Johnson discussed a recent visit by MIRMA. Discussion was also held on the city’s safety incentive program.

Safety Incentive money was expended to each employee in the amount of $100 as outlined in the Safety Incentive Program.
