Needing a win in the final match of the day, the Gallatin Bulldogs got just that from Dillan Gray, who pulled out a victory that gave the Bulldogs a 135 to 134 lead over host Carrollton and the title in last Friday’s wrestling tournament at CHS.
“We had a great tournament and I couldn’t have asked any more out of them,” GHS Head Wrestling Coach Barron Gann said of the Bulldogs. “Gallatin and Carrollton went back and forth all night,” he added. “Going into the 160-pound final, we were up by four, but we lost that match and with one match to go we trailed 134 to 133. Dillan pulled out a big win to give us a victory.”
One of the teams entered into the pool tournament backed out so Gallatin was able to insert some junior varsity wrestlers into the brackets, with great results.
