Letter to the Editor: Howard the Duck

I just want to say thank you for putting the article in your paper about the duck (Howard) being gone.

We finally figured out what happened to her.

Somebody dumped off a black Lab dog. It had been hanging around for two or three weeks. We had chased it out of the yard several times.

Sometime after midnight Sunday and early Monday morning, the dog got the duck.

All I have to say is I just wish people would take better care of their dogs. Please stop dumping them off. Because you see what happens. It killed the best pet. You will never see a duck and a pug be friends again. And my Winnie really misses the duck. We all miss the duck. Even the two little boys, who owned the duck (Howard).

So please take responsibility for your animals. If you don’t want them, don’t get them. Let someone else get them that will take care of them.

I just hope this helps people to take better care of their animals no matter what kind they have.
